Jed and I are so excited to do our family history work with the New Family Search. It is such a wonderful program makes it so much easier to find, connect, and add ancestors to our family tree! We love discovering more about the ones that went before us and laid the foundation for our family!
http://www.new.familysearch.org/ Check it out! It's actually fun!
I was reading an article online about women in their third trimester and the things they do to stay comfortable during the last few months of pregnancy. They are pretty funny, some that I would do, some that I wouldn't!
"When I take my kids to the beach, I dig a hole in the sand to put my belly in, so I can lie on my stomach again!"
"Get on all fours and let your belly sag down, moving the baby further away from all the organs she's been sitting on."
"If you can't get comfortable in bed, try a different spot. The couch or recliner may be your ticket to a good night's sleep."
"Get naked in front of the air conditioner!"
See what I mean? Anyways, it made me smile!
Our cucumber plants have began to bud flowers, I'm very excited to see what beautiful cucumbers come from these yellow angels! It's amazing how they started out as saplings, and now they are growing vines! They're bigger and longer every day! (I'm sure just like Baby Mele)
It's kind of a cute story how we came up with the name of our first son. One evening I was lying down, just enjoying the baby's kicks- then it hit me (quite literally actually)- I thought to myself "I'm totally carrying a little Jedbo." I've seen videos of my husband while he was younger, and I know our son is going to be so similar! Jed's personality was so cute and adorable (still is, of course) and I want are little boy to be just like him. So Jed Jr. it is!
Oh! I'm so happy that Jed (Sr.) got into the spirit of things today in the grocery store! It was actually his idea to buy diapers and baby wipes "to start stocking up" he said. So cute! I love how he is slowly starting to realize that lil Baby Jed is coming! I'm sure it is harder for fathers to connect with the baby during pregnancy. Mothers have it a little easier! We get very acquainted with the little one growing inside of us amongst the kicks, bathroom trips, back pain, heartburn, and fatigue! God bless our little ones! (and the ones who are brave enough to carry them!)
This past 4th of July weekend Jed's family came to visit us! We went to the spectacular firework show put on by Melaleuca every year. Even though Jed's family is far away- we still get to see them often!

A thirteen hour drive is well worth spending time with his mom, dad, and awesome brothers and sisters.
Last Memorial Day we went and spent the weekend with them-One of the places we visited was Historic Columbia, California- an old Gold Rush Town. It is so much fun to walk through the old town and participate in the various activities.
In the picture below is Sharon-Jed's mother, his younger sister Elle, older sister Becca, and his wife, Madeline! We had a good time on the horse ride- Jed and his younger brother Tait are going to ride on top!
Our family LOVES homemade icecream with our Cuisinart Automatic Frozen Yogurt-Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker- here's our favorite recipe for
Fresh Strawberry Ice Cream
Preparation: 5-10 minutes, plus 2 hours for the strawberries to macerate, 20-25 minutes chilling time; optional 2 hours to ripen.
Makes twelve 1/2 cup servings.
1 pint fresh ripe strawberries, stemmed and sliced
3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 cup sugar, divided
1 cup whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
In a small bowl, combine the strawberries with the lemon juice and 1/3 cup of the sugar; stir gently and allow the strawberries to macerate in the juices for 2 hours.
In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer or a whisk to combine the milk and granulated sugar until the sugar is dissolved, about 1-2 minutes on low speed. Stir in the heavy cream plus any accumulated juices from the strawberries and vanilla. Turn the machine ON, pour mixture into freezer fowl through ingredient spout and let mix until thickened, about 25-30 minutes. Add the sliced strawberries during the last 5 minutes of freezing.

I'm quickly approaching the 7th month of carrying Little Jed. The seventh month begins the Third Trimester! yay, almost there!
According to What to Expect When You're Expecting- my uterus is the size of a basketball! It seems like I can't get any bigger, but every morning I'm proven wrong! I still have about 13 weeks of expansion to go!
Jed Jr. is very coordinated in his movements (pedaling his feet and pushing them up against the most inconvenient places)- and he's also developed a strong grip! His eyes can open and close now and react to light.
Hiccups are very common and he loves to give Mommy a strong punch here and there between hiccups. Too bad I can't tell him to stand on his head and drink a glass of milk to get rid of them! He basically already is!
