Don't last too long

Our Thanksgiving was cold!  Negative degree weather cold.  We drove down to visit Jed's Grandparents.  It was so nice to get out of town and get a change of scenery. Even though its all the same... snow snow snow.
But needless to say, I'm so glad to be home!

Grandma B preparing our Thanksgiving meal.
Grandma and Grandpa have such a nice home.  Grandma loves to make quilts. I lost count after thirty! Her quilts are everywhere in her home. They are so beautiful. She's quite talented.

The Grandfather clock in the entrance.

One thing I love about visiting Jed's Grandma's house is that I lose track of time while we're there. She lives out in the country against a quiet hill-side.  It's so nice to just sit by the fire and do a puzzle while sipping hot cocoa.

But of course with a one-year-old those moments don't last too long!

We might as well!

Since Little Jed insists on running out the door every chance he gets, (he opens it himself too) we thought we might as well dress him up and let him play in the snow for a few minutes before we ran errands today.
The snow suit he had on makes him look like a blue marshmallow!!!  I couldn't help but laugh when we first put it on him.

Today was definitely a hot cocoa day!

You'll be sorry!

My brother-in-law is getting married to the most beautiful girl ever! They just got  their pictures and here is a link to a slideshow of them. Trust me, you'll be sorry if you don't look and see how cute they are together!

Speaking of wonderful pictures... here is a picture of the Family Reunion we went to in July. Can you see me? I think I make the picture perfect.  I'm the in-law in this photo. I literally stick out like a sore-thumb, I'm so good lookin.

Sing along with us:

"This is the way we watch tv, watch tv, watch tv.
This is the way we watch tv, early in the morning!!!"

Okay, is this not the cutest smile you've ever seen a one year old try to do for the camera? He's actually trying to smile! I think all these months of blinding him with bright lights, he's getting it!

There I go blinding the kid again. :)

Baby Jay's turn!
almost 34 weeks!!!

Wow! This picture just doesn't do it justice. I wonder if people that look at pregnancy pictures see the back- aches too.

Everything is looking good for his arrival in just a couple of more weeks!  I hope I make it!

And so we meet again...

Snow.  Yes, snow.  You come to greet us again! You know, I was enjoying the no-snow weather. However, it couldn't last forever could it?  The last time I posted about snow was April, nearly seven months ago.  And now it is back again.  I am excited about it- it means the season that Baby Jay will be born is coming soon. REALLY soon....  52 days soon- that's if I go full term.  Okay blah blah.

Here are pictures of the

of a simple apron that I finished today. It really is quite lovely! (Maybe because it's made with a beautiful paisley pink!!) I definitely am no seamstress- to say so would be a stretch. But I do enjoy sewing every now and then.  I still have projects that I'm working on, such as

Baby Jay's infant car seat cover
baby blanket
and decorative pillows

But until I get them finished, you'll only get to read about them. Sorry.

Baby Hungry

There are more than four of my friends that have just given birth to their babies!  After seeing all these pictures of newborn babies, I am getting really baby hungry. However, I only have 8 weeks left!  Jed lately has described my belly as a "torpedo." Not the best way to describe my growing silhouette, I feel... but still- it's true!

Not too much longer and we'll have a little newborn of our own.

Independent Playtime

Yep! So here it is!
 Mess 101.
I mentioned in my earlier post that the lil guy goes into independent playtime.
I put lil Jed into independent playtime everyday for at least 30 minutes in the morning before nap time. He plays by himself in his own room.  I go and check on him a lot of course, but by the looks of things, it's obvious that he loves it.  As you can see he barely plays with his toys in his toy-bin, but rather he goes straight for his clothes in his dresser.  I don't mind so much because we have so much fun singing the "Clean- Up" song to get his room back in order.  Right now it's just me singing (more like huffing and puffing because I have to bend over this gigantic belly) but occasionally lil Jed will grab a toy and start to hum along. He really likes to hum just the first two notes.  It's soooo adorable.
I love being a mom.

So there you have it! It's not as peaceful as nap time where I can concentrate on something for an hour or two. But it is a good time for me to be able to do things without a lil tyke at my heels the whole time. Often times I keep a sharp listening ear for when it goes quiet... because that is when he is being mischievous, no doubt!  Last time he went quiet, he had discovered the baby powder and was dancing around the room like a  ballerina in pixie dust.
I just can't help but giggle about that one! (Although it was quite a mess to clean up.)
