I love the change of seasons. And Spring is very welcome to come! The boys LOVE playing in the dirt with their tractors, and Harper loves hearing the birdies and smelling the flowers. I promise. She does. It doesn't look like it, but she does! We are so grateful for our beautiful happy children.
Easter is just around the corner!

Happy Half-Birthday!

Yesterday was Harper's Half-Birthday! She is now 6 months old!

Happy Half-Birthday Harper girl! You are beautiful and everyone loves you! We are so happy to have you apart of our family!!

Mood Food!

I've been learning a lot the past year the effect that the food you eat can have on you. It can influence you to be tired, happy, sad, angry, or even romantic! I know it sounds silly, but it's all too true. I wish I would have learned about this sooner. I've been on the hunt for foods that increase and lift my mood.  Before I changed my diet, a lot of times I would breakfast and just one to two hours later, I would be cranky and irritable! It turns out I was eating foods that would make my blood sugar spike, and then fall dramatically- inducing the grumpiness and sluggish feelings of the morning. So to help myself remember to eat healthy, I've made up a little printable to go on my fridge. You can print it out too, if you like! Just simply right-click and save it to your computer.

Here are some foods you can add to your favorite dish, or simply snack on throughout the day help boost your mood when you need a lift!

What are some foods you like to eat that help you feel more energy? Have you noticed which foods in your diet that make you tired?

Sunday Lunch

We went and had lunch at my Great Aunt Carol's house after church on Sunday. My Great Great Aunt Catherine loved holding Harper girl.

Earlier in the week we went to go visit my Great Grandmother Betty Jo. I love being around her more and more. Catherine and Betty are sisters. They have such funny stories to tell!

You might have seen this last picture on my Instagram feed lately? Now read closely: this is a picture of Harper and her mother's mother's mother's mother.

Yep. You read that right. 5 Generations. That's a beautiful thing and I am so glad to have my daughter, my mother, my grandmother, and my great grandmother still alive with me today. I know that God lives and has provided a way for us to live with our family forever.

The words of a favorite song that I sang when I was little at church teaches about this wonderful principle:

I have a family here on earth.
They are so good to me.
I want to share my life with them through all eternity.
Families can be together forever
Through Heavenly Father's plan.
I always want to be with my own family,
And the Lord has shown me how I can.
The Lord has shown me how I can.
